Answers before you ask.
Most people arrive with the same handful of questions. Here they are, answered plainly. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.
Student Visa
5 questionsHow long does the process take?
Most applications move from first contact to lodgement in a matter of weeks, covering enrolment, document preparation and submission. Processing times after that are set by the Department of Home Affairs and vary case by case, so we'll give you a realistic estimate once we know your situation.
What documents do I need?
It depends on your course and background, but most Student Visa applications need an offer letter and Confirmation of Enrolment, a genuine temporary entrant statement, proof of financial capacity, health cover, and English language evidence where it applies. We'll confirm exactly what your case needs.
Can I work while studying?
In most cases, yes. Student Visa conditions usually allow part time work during term and more hours during scheduled breaks. The exact conditions attached to your visa are confirmed as part of your application, and we'll walk you through what applies to you.
Can I bring my partner or family?
Often, yes. Whether your partner or children can be included depends on your specific course and circumstances, and we'll assess that as part of planning your application.
What happens if my visa is refused?
Visa outcomes are decided solely by the Australian Government, not by us. We commit to doing everything in our power to build the strongest possible case, and if a refusal happens we'll walk you through your options.
Sport Visa
5 questionsCan I get a sport visa to play, compete, or coach in Australia?
Yes. Our sport visa pathway uses the subclass 408 (Temporary Activity) visa for players, competitors and coaches across sports recognised by the Australian Sports Commission, not just padel and tennis.
How long can I stay?
It depends on your competition, contract or season, since the 408 Sport visa is tied to what you're actually here to do. We'll confirm a realistic length once we know your situation.
Can my family come with me?
In many cases, yes. We'll look at your specific circumstances and let you know what's possible for your family.
Does my club or organisation need to sponsor me?
Yes, the subclass 408 Sport visa needs a sponsoring body. We support both you and your sponsoring club or organisation through that process, including guiding clubs who haven't sponsored anyone before.
Can the visa be renewed after it expires?
Sometimes, depending on your sport, club and situation at the time. We'll tell you honestly whether renewal or another pathway makes sense as your visa nears its end.
Work & PR
5 questionsWhat is the difference between a work visa and permanent residency?
A work visa is usually temporary and tied to a specific employer or occupation, such as the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) visa. Permanent residency, most commonly through the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) or a skilled visa such as 189, 190 or 491, gives you an ongoing right to live and work in Australia. We'll tell you which pathway actually fits your situation.
Do I need a job offer first?
Some pathways require one, others don't. We'll tell you honestly which applies to you before you spend time chasing the wrong option.
How long does PR take?
Timelines vary widely depending on the pathway and your occupation, and they're set by the Department of Home Affairs rather than by us. We'll give you a realistic picture once we understand your case.
What is the points test / skills assessment?
Skilled visas like 189, 190 and 491 use a points test based on factors such as age, English level, qualifications and work experience, alongside a skills assessment confirming your occupation meets the required standard. We'll assess where you stand on both before you apply.
Can my family be included?
In most cases, yes, your partner and dependent children can usually be included. We'll confirm exactly what applies to your specific visa and circumstances.
Consultation
5 questionsWhat does a consultation cost?
It depends on the type of consultation and your situation, so we don't quote a flat figure upfront. Tell us what you need and we'll confirm the cost before you book anything.
How long does it take?
Consultations run around 30 minutes, by video call or phone, in English, Spanish, Hindi or Nepali.
What happens after the consultation?
If it's a fit, we map your strategy and route, then move into documents and lodgement together. If it's not the right fit yet, we'll tell you that too.
Do I need to bring documents?
It helps if you can share your nationality and passport situation, your current visa if you're already in Australia, and a rough sense of your qualifications and work history, but you don't need everything ready before you book. We'll work with whatever you've got.
Is everything confidential?
Yes, everything you share with us is treated as confidential.
Can't find yours?
Ask us the awkward version of your question. An honest "not yet, and here's why" is still a useful answer.
Every one of these was a real question, first.
Nothing here is theoretical. Every answer on this page started as something a real applicant needed to know before they could decide what to do next.
